Second Villagers single from album recorded in Donegal due for release

Conor J. O’Brien of The Villagers who recorded their second LP, Awayland, in Termon at Attica Audio.

THE Villagers, which feature Termon’s own Tommy McLaughlin, are to release Nothing Arrived as the second single from their upcoming LP, Awayland, on the same day as the album, January 11, 2013.

Nothing Arrived is a song of epic proportions and of much beauty, showcasing another side to the band’s multi-faceted, highly anticipated forthcoming album.

Awayland was produced and mixed at Attica Audio in Termon by Conor J. O’Brien and Villagers’ guitarist Tommy McLaughlin, and is the follow-up to the band’s Mercury Award-nominated and Ivor Novello-winning debut, Becoming a Jackal.

The accompanying video, directed by Alden Volney (who also made the video for the previous single, The Waves), documents a day in the life of one Terrence Bliss – a lonely office worker whose repetitive existence is momentarily disturbed.

The Villagers have just completed a UK and European tour as special guests to Grizzly Bear, as well as a handful of headline dates both here and in London. Villagers will be headlining an Irish tour next March. For dates log onto www.wearevillagers.com
