Season Best for Boyce as he finishes 24th in Budapest

Brendan Boyce finished in 24th place in the 35km Race Walk at the World Championships in Budapest this morning.

The Milford man produced a season best time of two hours, 37 minutes and 26 seconds.

Gold went to Spain’s Álvaro Martín with a time of 2:24:30.

It was another fine performance from the Finn Valley AC clubman in his sixth World Championships.

There is no 35km Race Walk at the Olympics next year, so Boyce (36) will be trying to qualify for the 20m Race Walk in Paris.
