Searches for missing man move to Teelin Pier

Gardaí are currently searching around a pier in Donegal
for a missing man.

The man, understood to be aged in his 60s and
from Northern Ireland, is understood to have
been the victim of a serious assault last weekend.

Searches had been taking place in Sliabh Liag
over the past four days; however, yesterday
evening investigators refocused their attention
on Teelin Pier.

The road to Teelin Pier, which is about a kilometre
away from Sliabh Liag, is currently closed and the
Garda Water Unit has been carrying out searches at
the pier.

Gardaí are continuing to appeal for information.

"Sliabh League remains closed at this time. Investigations are
ongoing.

"Any road users who were travelling in the vicinity of
Slieve League between Saturday evening, 24th June 2023
and Sunday evening, 25th June 2023,and who may have
camera footage (including dash cam) is asked to make
this available to investigating Gardaí.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact Ballyshannon
Garda Station on 071 985 8530, the Garda Confidential Line
on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station"
