Search continuing for missing Carrick man

A MAJOR search is continuing in the Carrick area of south west Donegal for a man who has been missing since New Year’s Day.

Gardai have appealed for assistance in tracing the whereabouts of David Maguire (38) from Carrick, who was last seen at 4.30am.

Mr Maguire, a father of two, is 5’10, of medium build and when last seen was wearing a green jacket, white hoody and blue jeans.

This morning, the search was concentrating in Teelin Bay and along the river bank from Meenaneary, to the Salmon Leap.

Farms and outhouses are also being searched.

The search is being carried out by the Coastguard helicopter, assisted by the local coastguard, Donegal Mountain Rescue as well as Gardaí and local people.
