The Loughanure Angling Club held the Annual Outboard engine competition on Loughanure Lake last Sunday. Another large turnout enjoyed a well run event and much credit must go to the hard working club members for the smooth running of the event and the great welcome and hospitality afforded to all the visiting competitors.

The fishing on the day was excellent with very little seperating the top prize winners. Winner on the day was Seamus Mc Connell from Castlefinn and he scooped the top prize of a Yamaha 4hp outboard engine.

Jim Cook from Dungloe landed the 2nd prize of a Yamaha Electric Outboard engine, I was lucky enough to get 3rd prize of an Auto inflatable Lifejacket and €50. Owen Mc Fadden was 4th , winning a Sonik Fly reel and Line, James Walsh took 5th prize of a Greys Fly Reel and Mac Walsh was Close 6th , winning a free entry to next years event. The Loughanure Club would like to thank all their Club sponsors and all the anglers who travelled long distances to help make the event such a great success.
