A SCOUT leader who injured herself on a three-day hike was flown to safety by helicopter on Saturday.
Donegal Mountain Recue Team (DMRT) were tasked with the rescue of the 38-year-old woman, who was part of a group of 150 scouts, when she broke her ankle en route to Slieve Sneacht.
The area was remote so DMRT requested Rescue 118 assistance from Malin Head Coastguard Station.
Malin co-ordinated the Rescue and the Helicopter in poor conditions found the group and winched the lady on board and transferred her to Letterkenny Hospital.
The Scout group was led by an experienced member of the Glen of Imaal Mountain Rescue Team.
The Scout group continued their hike and are spending a second night in the mountains in the area.
