A CLASSIC Lambretta scooter owned by a popular young Letterkenny man who passed away in 2005 has been lovingly restored in his memory by his best friend.
Gary Doyle (29), a scooter enthusiast from Carnamuggagh, died after a freak fall from the balcony of his third floor apartment in Dublin.
He left behind his devastated parents, Denis and Patty, and brother Paul as well as a huge circle of friends and extended family members.
Gary, also left behind a collection of classic scooters, one of which included a “rust bucket” of a classic Lambretta Jet 200.
He never got to fulfil his dream of restoring the bike, however, the baton was picked up by his best friend Karl Campbell.
Gary’s brother, Paul gifted the scooter to Karl who this week took possession of the fully restored bike. Tomorrow (Saturday) Karl will emigrate to New York with his American wife Krista.
