SCIENTISTS say Hobnobs are the best biscuits for dunking following a new study.
The oat biscuit came out on top when it was compared with digestives, rich teas and shortbread.
The British Medical Journal reports that out of the four biscuits, the oat biscuit maintained its integrity better when being dunked in a standard cup of tea.
This means it took longer to fall apart after dunking.
With a dunk break point of 34.3 seconds the oat biscuit was closely followed by shortbread at 31.7 seconds, the digestive at 28.3 seconds and the rich tea at 21.3 seconds.
They also researched preparing a standard cup of tea, the saturation volume of a biscuit and crunch reduction.
The conclusion of the study found that a cup of tea and a biscuit can easily be enjoyed in less than 10 minutes.
Overall, the study which was carried out by medical staff seen that making time for a cup of tea is an important daily ritual, and it should be encouraged to help improve mood and performance.
