Sarah’s Christmas Flower Show returns to St Johnston

THE much-loved Christmas Flower Show makes a festive return to St Johnston this December, celebrating the legacy of Sarah Hunter.

Sarah, a long-standing member of the St Johnston and Carrigans Family Resource Centre Management Committee, sadly passed away in August.

Sarah was the driving force behind many of the centre’s fundraising events and long-standing clubs.

She played an active role in the lunch club, numerous craft clubs, the annual community holiday, and the Social Services Committee.

In 2010, Sarah organised the very first flower demonstration at the centre.

What began as a simple idea 15 years ago has grown into one of the community’s most popular festive events.

Sarah cared deeply for her friends and neighbours and was always ready to offer help and support where needed.

She always made time to listen, offer advice, and roll up her sleeves to get things done.

Her commitment to the centre and the broader community was demonstrated through her renowned home baking, continuous fundraising efforts, and the organisation of events and outings.

This year, the event, held on Monday, December 1, will honour her memory while bringing the community together to celebrate the start of the Christmas season.

Tickets are €10 and include tea, coffee, and homemade treats on the night.

Attendees can also enjoy a raffle and spot prizes throughout the evening.

Join friends and neighbours for an evening of flowers, fun, and festive spirit, and help keep Sarah’s legacy alive in a celebration that has become a cherished holiday tradition.
