Salon manager hails domestic abuse initiative

A PROMINENT Letterkenny hairdressing salon manager has hailed a new initiative aimed at helping salon professionals recognise signs of abuse, and suitably signpost people to support services.

Patrick Gildea, of Patrick Gildea Hairdressing, was one of a number of local professionals who attended the ‘Empowering Salon Professionals to Recognise and Respond to Domestic Violence, Coercive Control, and Addiction’ event in the Silver Tassie Hotel this week.

The unique initiative is being targeted not only at hairdressers, but all those in the beauty industry including nail technicians, barbers and aestheticians.
