A SALE has been agreed for Letterkenny’s first super pub. Sister Sara’s on the Port Road had been put on the market recently at a knockdown price of €250,000 by a receiver on behalf of Anglo Irish Bank.
The 14,000 sq ft bar, which is based over three floors, was a hugely popular watering hole with many students during the boom and was worth several million euro. It had been on the market over a year ago at €550,000.
The landmark pub was owned by Clanmaca, a company belonging to well known local businessman, Mr Hughie McGee. The property over three levels, was sold on the instructions of Martin Ferris (Receiver & Manager), Ferris & Associates.
Ms Kiara Rainey, of Sherry Fitzgerald Rainey, Letterkenny, confirmed a sale had been agreed. She was unable to say who the new owners were because all offers were being negotiated directly with the receiver.
