THERE is much sadness in Letterkenny following the passing of Michael (Mick) Garry, Rathdonnell, Letterkenny.

He died peacefully on Tuesday at Letterkenny University Hospital.

A very well known and respected businessman, Mick was involved in a host of local groups and organisations.

He ran the successful Garry Office Supplies business in Letterkenny and also had strong links with Letterkenny Credit Union where he was a former Chairman.

He was also a keen golfer and a popular member and friend to many at Letterkenny Golf Club. Over the years, he held a number of different positions on the committee. Mick was predeceased by his parents Roseann and Michael, his siblings, Peter, Jim, Jack and Rosemary.

He was much loved and will be hugely missed by all his family: wife, Eileen (née Conaghan), sons, Paul and Liam, daughters, Michelle and Martina, daughter-in-law, Sinéad and sons-in-law, Tommy and Garrett.

He will be fondly remembered by extended family, good neighbours and many friends.

His remains will be reposing at his late residence today, Thursday, from 2pm to 9pm.

Funeral from there on Friday going to St. Columba’s, Kilmacrennan for requiem Mass at 11am, followed by interment in the adjacent cemetery.
