Sadness at passing of past President of Letterkenny Chamber

There is widespread sadness following the death of past President of Letterkenny Chamber of Commerce Michael Boyd.
Michael, Portsdale, Ballyraine, Letterkenny and formerly of Riverstown, Co. Sligo, passed away in Hillcrest Nursing Home, surrounded by his loving family.
“We, the Letterkenny Chamber Council, and staff, past and present, were very saddened to hear about the untimely death of our esteemed member and Past President Michael Boyd,” the chamber said in a statement this morning.
“Michael was closely involved with the Chamber over many years and served as President in 1999/2000. A proud Sligo man, he was committed to the development of Letterkenny and the North West and was always available with advice and guidance, not just to the Chamber, but to so many of our members and the wider business community.
“Michael built a business with a great reputation based on dignity and trust and was always the calming voice when advice was needed. Over the years he gave so generously of his time and expertise to the Chamber and to so many others who held him in high regard
“We offer our heartfelt sympathy to his wife June, children, Siofra, Darragh, Aiobhinn and Cian, the wider family circle and close friends. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered. May he Rest in Peace.”
