THE death has occurred of Marian McLaughlin (née Black), 4 Elm Court, Ramelton.
Ms McLaughlin passed away peacefully at the Donegal Hospice surrounded by her loving family after a long illness borne with dignity and courage on Tuesday, August 6.
A warm and friendly person, Marian was very well known and extremely popular in her native Ramelton and Letterkenny.
She worked in a number of places in Letterkenny over many years, starting out at the old O’Donnell’s Bakery and shop on Lower Main Street.
Other places of employment included the Donegal Shop, Donoghue Studios and Grove Furnishings.
She also ran the Donegal Pet Rescue charity shop at Lower Main Street.
Marian will also be remembered for her wonderful contribution to various charities and community organisations in both Ramelton and Letterkenny.
News of her passing has been met with great sadness by her many friends.
She will be reposing in her home today, Thursday, August 8 from 12pm to 10pm, wth rosary at 9pm.
Requiem Mass will take place in St Mary’s Church, Ramelton on Friday, August 9 at 2pm followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
Mass can be viewed on Church Services TV.

Marian is deeply regretted by her beloved husband Danny, daughter Martina, son-in-law Joe and granddaughters Molly and Susie.
She was a dear sister-in-law to Jack and Mairéad, Niall and Mary, and Charles and Joanne.
She will be sadly missed by all her loving family and many friends.
