GAELSCOIL Adhamhnáin rúnaí, Mairéad Uí Fhearraigh is set to retire this week.
Mairéad, a Ranafast native, has been living in Letterkenny for the past 36 years.
During this time, Mairéad has been a vital cog in the machine at the busy Gaelscoil Adhamhnáin. Mairéad has worked there since the school first opened its doors back in September 1991.
Principal, Colm Breathnach, told the Donegal News, “Mairéad has been a foundation stone of Gaelscoil Adhamhnáin since its establishment and has been instrumental in its success.
“She will be a huge loss to the school but we are grateful to her for everything she has done over the years and the care she has shown to many generations of Gaelgeoirí in Letterkenny.
“She has watched the school develop and grow into the large organisation that we know today.
“Her warmth and hard work will be greatly missed by all in the school when she finishes up this Friday.”
There will be a special retirement celebration this Friday in Castlegrove where colleagues and friends will gather to honour Mairéad.
