THE organisers of the recent Run in the Dark fundraiser held in Gaoth Dobhair have offered a special thank you to all who helped support the event.
On Wednesday, November 15, people all around the world took part in a 5k run, wheel or walk as part of a global celebration to light up the night and help cure paralysis.
The Run in the Dark Donegal team, which was led by local woman Sonia McGarvey, hosted their fundraiser at Amharclann Gaoth Dobhair.
This was the 6th Run in the Dark in Donegal and with €700 raised on the night, the total raised through the years has now reached over €17,000.
The event raised money for the Mark Pollock Trust who are exploring the frontiers of recovery for people with spinal cord injuries.
Offering her thanks to everyone who played their part in making the night such a success, Sonia McGarvey added: “A massive thank you to the familiar and some not so familiar faces that turned up, coming from as far as Omagh to support this cause yet again and who made it a very enjoyable night for all.
“Míle buíochas daoibh uilig.”
