Denim Rowan had a fine game at corner-back for Setanta in Sunday’s Ulster Final against Shane O’Neill’s and he was proud of how his teammates handled the big occasion.
“The conditions were tough in the first half between the rain and the sun. it was very hard to see every ball that came in,” said the Finner-based soldier.
“We knew ourselves we just had to grind it out. We were 10-8 down at half-time but we knew we had the wind to come and we felt like we were in the driving seat then.
“They kept coming at us and Steven (McBride) made a big block at one stage.
“Seeing something like that gives everyone a lift, and we just drove on from that.”
