LETTERKENNY Rovers manager Eamonn McConigley is preparing his team for the biggest game of their season so far, when they take on Cork side Midleton FC in the last 16 of the Intermediate Cup on Sunday at the Aura Centre at 12pm.

McConigley has made no secret of his desire to see his team do well in this competition, and they have made the last-16 this term for the first time since 2004, when they reached the semi-finals before losing out to Rockmount.

Rovers will be hoping for better luck against Cork opposition this week, and a spot in the last-eight of the prestigious tournament.

“It definitely is the biggest game of the season so far,” said McConigley.

“It’s an Intermediate Cup game at home and if you get the right result you’re through to the quarter-finals.

“It’s a sign of progress and hopefully we can keep that going this week.”
