Rovers have eyes set on promotion

BY RYAN FERRY

LETTERKENNY Rovers’ Donegal League team have just landed in the Donegal League First Division but they don’t plan on staying long.
Rovers entered the Donegal Junior League last term and were placed at the bottom rung of Sunday football.
They won the Division Two title impressively with a young, vibrant side, and the bulk of that squad are still together and looking to push on.
Stephen McConnell is back in charge for another season, and he says with the uncertainty surrounding the long-term future of Intermediate football in the county, the club are keen to progress through to the top flight of the Donegal Junior League.
“Maybe we shouldn’t speak so soon into the season but we did have a talk before the start of the year and we said we wanted to push for promotion.”
