LETTERKENNY ROVERS’ Under 15 manager James Bonner is hoping that home advantage might swing this week’s National Cup Last 16 clash with Mervue United in their direction.
Rovers face the Galway outfit at the Aura Centre at 2pm on Saturday, and Bonner feels they will be hard to beat if they perform like they did when they defeated Newcastlewest 3-1 in the last round away.
“We were excellent in our last game down in Limerick and if we play to the same level again, then we won’t be too far away.
“At the same time, Mervue have the pick of players from Galway, so they are going to have a strong side.
“Anthony Gormans’s brother Gareth is managing Mervue’s seniors, and he says they have a good team that are probably on a par with ourselves.
“It’s going to be a close game. We’re hoping the fact that they have to travel up might give us an edge.”
