Rose of Tralee Send Off for Ardara’s Tamara

ON Wednesday night, July 30, the village of Ardara will be filled with many of Ireland’s most loved country singers at the Nesbitt Arms Hotel as they give a send off to local girl Tamara Payne as she heads off to represent Donegal in this year’s Rose of Tralee International Festival.

Tamara (19) who is the daughter of William and Anna Payne Garrowart, Ardara and granddaughter of Frances Boyd was selected to represent Donegal in this year’s live TV show and is the only Ulster Rose in this year’s competition.

A farewell function has been organised for Tamara to take place at the Nesbitt Arms Hotel on Wednesday night the 30th of July and friend of the family Brian Cunningham has been asked to put on one of his successful country nights which have been sell out shows all over Ireland and the United Kingdom.

The Queen of Country Philomena Begley, her son Aidan Quinn, Dominic Kirwan, Lee Matthews, Crystal Swing, Patrick Feeney and local girl Grainne Gavigan are amongst the guests on the night with a special guest also appearing on the night.

This will be a ticket only event due to seating capacity in the hotel and once the tickets are gone there gone so people are advised to get their tickets early as this is expected to be a sell out show. Speaking ahead of the concert Tamara Payne said that she was very excited about the concert and was looking forward to seeing everyone on the night.

She paid tribute to everyone who was supporting her in her local community by hosting various different events and she said that she was delighted that Brian Cunningham had agreed to bring one of his successful shows to the heritage town on Wednesday week July 30 and is appealing to everyone to get their tickets early.
