Subbuteo is an iconic game that most sports fans of a certain vintage would be familiar with but for Brendan Rodgers and a small squad of fellow Irish enthusiasts, it goes much further than that.
The tabletop football game sees competitors simulate association football by flicking miniature players with their fingers, in the hope of trying to score goals.
When Rodgers was growing up in Falcarragh, it was a pass-time he regularly played with pals.
And now a few decades later, he is helping to grow the world of Subbeteo in the country once again.
“It is an unusual one alright,” Rodgers told the Donegal News.
“I suppose I would look at it now as a winter past-time or hobby. Some people play darts or cards, and we play table soccer.”
