Mayo legend Alan Dillon believes Donegal’s enlisting of Stephen Rochford could prove a real masterstroke.
The two-Time All-Star played under the Crossmolina man during his final two seasons with his county. And while Rochford’s eventual departure from Mayo last year was an acrimonious one, Dillon believes his influence alongside Declan Bonner could provide Donegal with an unpredictable edge in 2019.

He said: “I think the last two or three seasons with Mayo he definitely was very much tactically aware as to how we should set up. The coaching side of things – he very much took a back seat on that. Donie Buckley was very much hands on in Mayo. Stephen would have overseen how people were moving.”
