Robinson hoping for MacLarnon Cup glory

There’s a lot of excitement in St Eunan’s College this week as the school’s senior team gear towards the MacLarnon Cup Final on Thursday night.

The Letterkenny school secured their passage to the upcoming showpiece following a semi-final win over Holy Trinity, Cookstown two weeks ago.

Three first half goals helped them over the line on that occasion, one of which was netted by Jack Robinson and the corner-forward expressed that there’s excitement amongst the group as the big day approaches.

“There’s excitement in the group. We’ve prepared hard, we have the work done now, it’s just going and doing it in the final on Thursday”.

The squad have been training hard since September and have really ramped up their training and preparation since returning from the Christmas break.

“Ah just the usual, we’re just training away, a few meetings, a few video analysis sessions. It’s just the training’s done now, it’s all about getting the job done now on Thursday”, said Robinson.

The Letterkenny man produced a man of the match performance against Holy Trinity, Cookstown in the MacLarnon Cup semi-final two weeks ago, landing 1-1 for the side.

Thursday‘s showpiece is a big occasion for every player involved with the school team and the young forward is hoping to replicate his performance from the last four encounter when he takes to the field in Belfast.

“I’ll be hoping to play similar to how I played in the semi-final, just keep working hard and bring the trophy home.”
