A special event has been held in Letterkenny in memory of those killed on the roads.
World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims was marked at an event in the Mount Errigal Hotel yesterday.
Families and friends of road accident victims were joined at the event by representatives from An Garda Siochana, National Ambulance Service, Road Safety Authority, Road Victim Support Northern Ireland Donegal and Donegal County Council.
A council spokesperson thanked everyone who attended, provided music and supported the memorial event.
“Together, we honoured all those who have lost their lives on our roads, acknowledged those who have been seriously injured, and recognised the vital work of our emergency services who respond with courage and dedication every day.
“It also served as an important reminder of our shared commitment to safer roads and preventing further deaths and serious injuries.”
