Road closure on N56 at Inver Bridge until further notice

Donegal County Council has issued a road alert due to the closure of the N56 at Inver Bridge following a road traffic accident.

The road is closed immediately and will remain so until the situation is resolved and the road is deemed safe for use.

All regular vehicles will be diverted from the N56 onto the Frosses Glenties Road (R262) and the Ardaghey Ardara Road (LP1515), utilising the Tawer Road (LP1395-5) to bypass the closed section.

Heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) are requested to follow a specific diversion route via the Frosses Glenties Road (R262) and rejoin the N56 through Ardara to avoid the closed section.

Drivers are advised to follow the diversion signs and plan their journeys accordingly to avoid delays.

Local authorities are working to clear the accident and reopen the road as soon as possible.

Further updates will be provided by Donegal County Council as the situation develops.
