A road in west Donegal is blocked after a roof blew off a factory.
The Purt Road between Burtonport and Lackenagh is impassable at the factories due to the tin roof blowing off a premises in that area.
Meanwhile the road at Altnagapple, Ardara is currently blocked due to a fallen tree and the L6243 at Cruicnageragh towards Creche from Quay Road, Dungloe is currently blocked by a fallen tree lying on ESB wires.
Donegal County Council has advised that the R238 at Ard Colgan Carndonagh will remain closed to traffic until tomorrow, subject to ESB repair works on overhead lines.
Diversions via the Moss Road and Corvish road remain in place.
The Council has also warned that there are trees resting on overhead power lines on the river side of the Cockhill Road.
In consideration of safety for pedestrians, this section of footpath has been closed to the public.
“The ESB have been notified of the situation, and asked to prioritise. Pedestrians are asked to avoid this area until the area is made safe,” said a spokesperson for the council.
The Cockhill Road R238 remains open to traffic.
Donegal is currently under a status wind warning which will remain in place until 7pm and also a yellow thunderstorm warning which will be in place until 6pm.
