Rhys Irwin continues to prove his worth at the British Superbikes Championship this weekend at Cadwell Park UK. The popular Racer from Kilmacrennan has earned the right to race the factory supported Kawasaki Team Green in the hotly contested Supersport Championship.
The racing got off to a wet start on Friday with Rhys showing great form getting his race machine up to P2 followed by a difficult qualifying. Rhys started the race from the fourth row of the grid and fought hard to finish the race day P7 and hot in the mix with fractions of seconds separating the racers.
“Cadwell Park is one of my favourite tracks in the BSB calendar,” Irwin said after the race.
“It has been a hard season so far but I took the Kawasaki to the limit, getting up to P2 on Friday morning and finishing the race P7. I have the hardest racing team around me who is pulling out all the stops to get the bike set up for me and I am so grateful.
“I have to thank all the people who help me continue my racing dreams especially my local sponsors Mondello supporters club and James & Jacqui Gallagher of Oasis Bar, Northwest Customs and Snugburrough Letterkenny. You can watch me live again in two weeks time on Eurosport racing at Oulton Park UK.”
