IN-FORM Swilly Rovers will hope to continue their ascent up the Ulster Senior League table and take another notable scalp when they welcome Cockhill Celtic to Swilly Park this Sunday (kick-off, 2).
The Ramelton outfit, currently fourth in the USL standings, are unbeaten in their last six games in all competitions, a run that includes beating rivals Letterkenny Rovers and old foes Fanad United, as well as a 2-2 draw against Kildrum Tigers.
Swilly boss Jason Gibson, in his second year in charge, has moulded a panel with a core of USL experience around an exciting crop of the club’s younger brigade in a bid to awake one of the sleeping giants of Donegal football.
“When we came in last year we just wanted to try and consolidate and we ended up having a half-decent season. But I think we’ve definitely improved this year. We’re not the soft touch we once were and we’re a bit tougher to beat now,” said the Swilly manager, hours after returning home from the European Championships in Poland.
