THE HSE monitoring group confirmed to the Donegal News yesterday (Thursday) that there have been no new ‘flu’ cases at the Nazareth House Nursing Home in Fahan since April 4.
The nursing home which came to national attention after it was reported that six residents had died within ten days. HIQA and the HSE moved quickly to establish the cause of the deaths which was confirmed as the Influenza A (H3) infection.
By last weekend it was confirmed that a seventh resident had succumbed to the infection. All of those who died were over 80 years and more vulnerable by virtue of their age.
