A meeting will be held in Cloghan on Monday night to discuss the planning permission granted for the extension of a digester plant close to residents’ homes.
Despite strong objections from householders, Glenmore Generation Ltd was recently given the go ahead to build three new digesters at its plant outside Ballybofey.
The Glenmore Action Group, a collective of local householders, says it fears the development will have a serious detrimental impact on their day-to-day lives. Their concerns centre on the odour, the noise, the traffic and the risk of pollution they say will emanate from the Glenmore plant once the extension is operational.
The action group has taken its case to An Bord Pleanála and the planning body says it expects to make a ruling on the matter by March 2 next year.
A meeting to discuss the current state of play will be held in Cloghan Day Centre on Monday evening at 8pm. Everyone is welcome to attend.
