Reservoir cleaning programme continuing this week in Donegal

UISCE Éireann is advising customers in Killybegs and Na Gleannta that essential reservoir cleaning works are continuing this week to help safeguard the quality and reliability of the local water supply.

Measures, including network adjustments and bypasses, have been put in place to avoid supply interruptions during these planned works.

However, customers are advised that they may experience temporary reduced water pressure or some discolouration at times while works are underway.

Works will take place on reservoirs serving the Killybegs Public Water Supply today (Tuesday), Wednesday, and Thursday of this week.

Crews will be continuing the works at reservoirs on Na Gleannta Public Water Supply on Thursday afternoon.

On Friday, February 20, maintenance works will be carried out on the Owenteskna Public Water Supply.

All works will be carried out between 8am and 6pm, and crews will endeavour to complete the essential cleaning works and maintain normal supply levels throughout.

Damien O’Sullivan of Uisce Éireann said: “These works are essential to safeguard the quality and reliability of our water supply.

“While bypasses and network adjustments are in place to avoid major disruption, some customers may notice temporary changes such as reduced pressure or slight discolouration.

“Our crews work diligently to keep any impacts to a minimum, and we thank customers for their patience while this important work is completed.”
