Researcher sought ahead of Colmcille celebration

DONEGAL County Council is looking for a researcher to create a study pack for primary schools to celebrate the 1500th Anniversary of the birth of Colmcille.

In 2020- 2021 the Council will commemorate the anniversary of Colmcille’s birth in Gartan and to mark the milestone the Archives Service is seeking a researcher to research the history, heritage and folklore associated with Colmcille and to write and prepare for publication and online access an education/study pack for primary schools.

The pack should aim to be original in format and should include an accessible and comprehensive history of the life and legacy of Colmcille, along with illustrations, images and worksheets,” said a Council spokesperson.
