RENOWNED actor John Connors has expressed his support for the Gaoth Dobhair community in the wake of the devastating church fire that occurred in Derrybeg last weekend.
This comes after a fire completely destroyed St Mary’s Church in the early hours of Easter Monday.
Best known for playing Patrick Ward in the hit RTÉ drama series Love/Hate, Connors took to social media this week to speak of the tragedy.
“Gaoth Dobhair in Donegal is one of my favourite places on the island,” the actor began.
“It is just magical, with great people and beautiful beaches, the most stunning you will ever see.
“I had some great times there.
“It is a real shame to see what happened up there, a tragedy.
“The local community are devastated.”
Connors then reached out to the community, offering solace during their time of grief.
“I would be happy to help if I could be of any service at all,” he said.
“It is a real tragedy.
“I hope you are all okay.
“God is good, you can rebuild it and make it better than ever.”
