Remembering ‘Mosie’ at Doon Well

THE sad passing of well-known Newmills woman Mary Rose Dullaghan almost a month ago, will be celebrated at one of her favourite places this evening.

Known to many as ‘Mosie,’ Mrs Dullaghan passed away at the Donegal Hospice on Sunday, August 25 after a brave battle with illness.

Her family have decided that instead of a month’s mind Mass they will remember Mosie in a place she loved, Doon Well.

Family and friends will gather at the popular pilgrimage site at 7 pm this evening.

Following this there will be refreshments afterwards in Wilkin’s Bar, Churchill.

Speaking in advance of tomorrow evening’s remembrance event, Mosie’s daughter Donna said that anyone who wishes to join them is more than welcome.

“I would also like to take this opportunity on behalf of myself, Dad (Owney), Chris, Kathy and the extended family, to thank everyone who helped in any way during mums journey over the past year, everyone that had any part at the wake and the funeral. It was greatly appreciated.

“One of Mum’s things that she carried with her throughout her life that she learned from her own Mother is this……what you put out, you will get back so always be kind. And that showed ten-fold since Mum got diagnosed all the way through until she passed. So from our heart to yours, thank you.”

Mosie (née Kelly) had a strong association with local media having worked for years with the Donegal Democrat and Donegal People’s Press.
