Relive the ‘Summer of Love’ with Donovan in Ballybofey

Donovan.

Donovan.

RELIVE the ‘Summer of Love’ with Donovan, the celebrated 60’s and 70’s counter culture icon, when he comes to Donegal this Saturday, June 29.

Donovan is one of those artists that is indelibly etched in music history – a legendary folk-rock-pop troubadour that remains an important part of popular culture.

He helped transform the 1960s musical landscape from folk to psychedelic to pop and back again with a repertoire of remarkable and extraordinary masterpieces.

Songs such as Sunshine Superman, Mellow Yellow and Season of The Witch form part of the soundtrack of an era and remain as vibrant a collection of material today as when they were first penned. This extraordinary contribution to music was acknowledged with his induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2012.

Donovan comes to The Balor as part of a special series of solo unplugged concerts coinciding with the release of his new album ‘Shadows Of Blue’ and four-song EP which will be on sale exclusively at these shows.

This is a rare opportunity to see live one of the 60’s and 70’s iconic figures and to hear not only his music but also the stories of the man who taught John Lennon a guitar picking style and included Dylan, The Rolling Stones, Jimmy Page and The Beatles among his contemporaries. Donovan plays The Balor Arts Centre, Ballybofey this Saturday, June 29, at 8.30pm. Call the Balor Box Office on Tel 074 9131840.
