THE Relay for Life buzz is growing in anticipation of the charity event on Saturday.
The fundraiser will take place at the ATU from 4pm on Saturday and will be running for 24 hours. Relay for life is the largest cancer fundraiser across the globe, it has been taking place in Donegal since 2012.
There has been a huge community effort to raise money for The Irish Cancer Society to help cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost to cancer and stand with those dealing with cancer.
The Donegal international Car Push which acts as a curtain raiser for Relay for Life will be taking place this Wednesday at Divers Hyundai garage at 7pm. Car dealers, drivers and gyms involved will take to the road in a broken down vehicle rally to push to the limit!
All cars will have their engines switched on for steering and brakes effect but acceleration will be provided by the gym teams consisting of eight people to push the car around the 5k route.
The last International Car push took place in 2017 and the team are hoping that this event will be just as successful.
The famous face of Daniel O’Donnell has been an avid ambassador of the cause in Donegal for years, hosting charity concerts and taking part in Relay for Life, chairperson Seamus Devine has remarked, “Daniel and Majella are joint patrons of Donegal Relay for Life and do so much to promote it.”
After last year’s turnout Devine proclaimed it is “just brilliant to see and obviously a great boost to Relay for Life.”
