DONEGAL County Council’s Regeneration and Development Team have announced plans to develop and regenerate Raphoe town centre.
This revamp will be carried out in conjunction with Paul Doherty Architects and Cala Architects.
This development will be heritage-led with aims to incorporate historic buildings and culture into the plans.
The strategy and action plan will be prepared in line with the new National Policy, ‘Town Centre First – A Policy Approach for Irish Towns’ and will be regeneration and renewal focused.
The plan will see an emphasis on heritage and conservation and a view to strengthening the role, image, vibrancy, vitality, and resilience of Raphoe town centre.
The team is making an effort to get the community’s opinions and ideas on the project.
The process will commence with a first stage of public consultation.
This will include a streetside consultation event that will take place on Thursday, July 24 at the Diamond, Raphoe, from 2pm – 7pm.
The public are invited to come along and talk to the consultants and share their thoughts, ideas, and aspirations for the town centre.
