Referendum turnout low in Donegal

VOTING was slow across Donegal yesterday (Thursday) for the Fiscal Stability Treaty Referendum.
A random survey at polling stations in the Letterkenny areas yesterday morning with an average turnout by 11 am of between 4 and 5 percent
Polling stations opened at 7 am and at Trinity Hall one eager voter arrived to cast their ballot as soon as it opened. The polling stations remain open until 10 pm.
Counting will begin this morning (Friday) at 9 am at the two Donegal count centres.
