The Central Bar, The Brewery Bar in Letterkenny, Blaney’s Mace, Kerrykeel and the Lagg Service Station in Milford have all gone into receivership. They are owned by members of the well known Blaney family.

The receivers have been appointed on behalf of the Allied Irish Bank and the debts are believed to be around €10million. The three premises are still open and employ up to 50 people. Yesterday efforts to contact Mr Michael Blaney, proprietor of The Central and The Brewery proved unsuccessful.

However, the speculation began around Letterkenny on Friday evening with reports receivers moved into the premises. It is known the management had been trying to trade their way out of the financial difficulties for some time.
