The Raymochy Historical Society are hosting their Annual General Meeting in the Manorcunningham Resource Centre on Wednesday, January 21 at 8pm. Everyone is very welcome to come along.
The Society have just completed another successful year that has involved hosting public talks, group outings, collaborating with local schools, clean-ups of our local abbeys and graveyards, and facilitating visits from our diaspora.
During the course of the past year the society received grant funding from the Local Enhancement Programme that has offset running costs and facilitated the purchase of a number of historic display boards depicting a variety of subjects like local street plans, business, industries, social activities, etc.
It is hoped to build on this with further information boards in the coming year. We thank the Enhancement Programme for their support.
The society also received financial donations from Cllrs Donal Coyle and Jimmy Kavanagh which has helped to purchase electronic equipment. We thank them for their ongoing support.
Everyone is welcome to come along to the meeting and to hear about our activities and it presents an opportunity for like-minded individuals to become involved with this local group. Tea and refreshments will be served after the meeting.
