Raphoe business premises targeted by vandals

Gardaí have confirmed they are investigating an alleged incident of burglary at a business premises in Raphoe over the weekend.

Damage was caused by vandals who entered Frankie’s of Raphoe on Saturday, ransacking the premises which is currently lying vacant. It’s understood quite a bit of damage was caused and graffiti sprayed on walls inside.

Gardaí say they received a report of the alleged burglary which occurred on Saturday, June 1.

“It is not known if any items were taken,” a Garda spokesperson said.

“Investigations are ongoing.”

Before the weekend, and in a separate incident, damage was also caused to the nightclub part of the building with more incidents of graffiti.

A number of fire extinguishers were removed and set off by the culprits.
