A RAMELTON man is to stand trial for alleged drugs offences.
Oscar Ponsonby (20), with an address of Tiroddy, Ramelton, but residing at 3 Solomon’s Court, Letterkenny, was served the Book of Evidence at Letterkenny District Court on Monday.
Ponsonby is charged with possession of cannabis on March 24, 2024 at Tiroddy, Ramelton. He is also charged with possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling and supply on the same date and at the same address.
Ponsonby is further charged with possession of drugs (Ketamine) and possession of methylenedioxymethylamphetamine (MDMA) on the same date and location. He is also charged with possession of methylenedioxymethylamphetamine (MDMA) at the same date and location for the purpose of selling or otherwise.
Sergeant Maurice Doyle told the court that the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has consented to the accused being sent forward for trial to the next sitting of Letterkenny Circuit Court, commencing on February 3.
Judge Emile Daly administered the alibi warning.
Mr O’Brien made an application for legal aid and sought one counsel.
Ponsonby was remanded on bail on the same terms and conditions as previously set down by the court.
