JASON Quigley battled hard against rising star Edgar Berlanga at Madison Square Garden in the early mornings of Sunday morning but eventually sucummbed to his third professsional defeat.
Quigley went 12 rounds for the first time in his career.
He hit the canvas four times, including two in the final round, but also asked plenty of questions of Berlanga. The final scorecards of 116-108, 116-108, 118-106 were harsh on the Ballybofey man.
The 32-year-old can be proud of his effort but his pro record now stands at 20-3.
