Quiet Christmas for crime

GARDAI have reported a low number of incidents over what they described as a relatively quiet Christmas period.

Two youths stole a quad motorbike worth €800 from Motoworld, Port Road, Letterkenny on St Stephen’s morning.
The vehicle was later recovered and gardai are hopeful they can identify the culprits from CCTV footage.

In the early hours of the same morning, more than €1,000 damage was caused after a man hurled a cactus plant through a window at Jackson’s Hotel, Ballybofey.

Meanwhile, a burglary at a house at Meadowbank, Letterkenny, also on St Stephen’s Day, resulted in the house being flooded due to the theft of a copper hot water tank.

The incident took place some time between 5 pm and 10 pm.

Anyone with information in relation to any of these incidents should contact Letterkenny Garda Station on 074 91 67100.
