Quick response by Coast Guard saves life of fisherman

A FISHERMAN has been rescued from the water in Killybegs after he fell off the new pier on Sunday evening.
The Killybegs Coast Guard confirmed that they were alerted to the incident by a local taxi man who saw the man fall from the pier.
On their facebook page, a spokesperson for the Killybegs Coastguard confired: “After a quick call and quick action by coast guard members and local taxi man a fisherman was pulled to safety from the water between a trawler and the pier at the new pier.

They added that a life had been saved by the quick repsonse.

It is understood that the man who fell into the water was transferred to hospital.
