Pupils from Scoil an Linbh Íosa Carrigans, Moyle National School in Newtowncunningham and Ballyoughry Primary School in Derry recently came together in a festive spirit as part of their Peace Plus Programme.
With community as this year’s theme, the three schools, along with their families, crocheted cosy blankets which were presented to the residents of Trinity Court, an independent living facility in Newtowncunningham.
The local school children were helped to complete the blankets by the talented hands of Pauline Edwards, Ann Brogan, Marie McMonagle and Carol Hepworth.
The visit was filled with Christmas cheer as the pupils sang carols for the residents. They received a warm and welcoming reception from Teresa Canning, the staff and residents of Trinity Court and were treated to a selection of festive refreshments during their visit.
