PUPIL power has been attributed to a decision by the owners of Letterkenny pizza outlet to reconsider a €1 price hike to their popular ‘Recession Buster’ special.

The €5 deal was introduced by Pat’s Pizza when the economy began to slow down eight years ago. It was so successful the owners said it even “saved us during the recession”.

But, following pressure from their accountant, Pat and Mary Bradley were ‘forced’ to increase the price to €6.

This, however, attracted the ire of cash-strapped students who started a Facebook campaign which racked up 2,100 ‘likes’ in a month.

Speaking to the Donegal News, Ms Bradley admitted “that’s a lot of likes.” She also confirmed that they were bringing back a new lunchtime deal next month for students.

However, she strongly denied they were ‘liked’ into submission.
