Increase in lighting faults in Donegal due to storms

Donegal County Council

Donegal has experienced a 21% increase in public lighting faults in the last number of weeks as a result of the recent storms that have hit the county.
Airtricity Utility Solutions (AUS) who are contracted by Donegal County Council to maintain public lighting facilities in the county believes that these figures are likely to be compounded as a result of damage from flood waters and supply faults and that high water levels have caused significant issues.
All reasonable measures to minimise the effect in the county has been undertaken with AUS staff being reallocated to address issues where required. Despite these efforts it is likely that there will be areas where public lighting assets will be out for longer periods of time.
US and Donegal County Council are urging members of the public to report faults by calling AUS at 1850 372 772 or online at www.airtricitysolutions.com. Alternatively members of the public can also report a fault by contacting Donegal County Council at 074 91 53900 or online at www.donegalcoco.ie .
