DONEGAL’S first baby of the new year was born at Letterkenny University Hospital.
The baby girl, Katie, was born weighing 8lb at 3.24am on Saturday, January 1.
Proud parents Monica and Mark Gillespie from Clonmany are delighted with the new arrival, while Katie’s older sister Lauren (6) and brother Logan (3) were looking forward to meeting their new baby sister this afternoon.
“It’s our third baby and thankfully everything went okay. The staff at the hospital have been excellent but we can’t wait to get home later today,” Monica said.
